Nisqually resident

I took a walk around the trail at Nisqually yesterday. this was the last day the 5.5 mile loop will be open. The dike is to be removed to allow the estuary to return to it's previous state.

We are going through some interesting terrain.

Coming Home

We had a great trip to Key West yesterday. I'll send pictures later. It has been so hot here. We did manage to scoop up some sand from the keys to bring home.

Today we began the journey home.

We are now at a place in Alachua, Fl. This campground is next to some kind of farmland/safari (as they call it). Bob fed some goats with Spanish Moss. The temparture has dropped from the 90's to probably low 70's.

Still in Tampa

We have been stuck here at Camp Nebraska due to brake problems. We hope to get them fixed tomorrow. They won't hold enough air.

Just adding a few more pictures. I can't seem to figure out how to re-arrange the photos with the narration.

Tampa

We have been in Tampa since Friday.

We spent some time at Bush Gardens. It isn't quite what we expected, but had fun. We thought we would be seeing gardens, but it is an African/jungle theme park so saw lots of exotic animals. Bob and I only went on one ride and came out absolutely SOAKED! Fortunately, I had a raincoat for the camera case and it was about the only thing on me that wasn't wet.

On Saturday we went to the Kennedy Space Station hoping to see the shuttle landing. We didn't get to see it, but it is still an absolutely fascinating place to visit. Saw a few alligators in the water along the road. The area is a wildlife refuge.

I have been at the Society meeting on Sunday and Monday. We will be leaving today to continue to southern Florida.

We are in an RV park that is older, has a very mixed group of residents.

The internect connection is iffy so will try to get more photos posted later.

Latest pictures

I couldn't get the latest photos on my last posting. Here is my next attempt.

Report from Alabama

We are almost at the Florida border. Bob has had a daily dual with huge winds. He hasn't even considered asking me to learn to drive this rig.

Doesn't look like there will be a break until Saturday when we will be parked in Tampa for several days.

We plan to go to Silver Springs in northern Florida tomorrow and may be out of the nasty stuff.

We made a stop at a casino for free parking last night and are at a place in Robertsdale Alabama tonight. I will post some photos taken in the last couple of days. We stopped at Fontainebleau State Park to look at Lake Ponchartrain today and got a few pictures. Bob quickly pointed out a Moccasen Water Snake to let me know I needed to watch my step!

Scott was our hero last night when he could guide Bob to the electrical problem that was cutting out half of our outlets including the TV! Thank your Scott!

More pictures to come.
